This year Day of the African child focus Is ‘Leave No Child Behind for Africa’s Development’. The African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child decided on this theme during its 29th Ordinary session in May 2017 as the theme for the DAC for 2018 and adopted by the Executive Council.This year, SOS Children’s Villages is partnering with the Government of Malawi, African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC), Child Focused Agencies to commemorate the Day of the African Child 2018 in Lilongwe, Malawi.During the commemoration, a platform will be provided for children to engage with duty bearers and officials. The event will also highlight the significance of addressing concerns of children without or at risk of losing parental care in a holistic manner under a common continental agenda.
To celebrate this year’s Day of the African child, ParkInn Hotel one of our corporate partners invited the children from Nairobi Children’s Villages Burburu to ParkInn hotel located in Westlands.It was all fun,games,laughter,dance,learning,food and cake celebrations for the children and youth at ParkInn Hotel. The children from SOS Children's Village Buruburu in Nairobi and youth from SOS Technical Training Institute got to interact with the staff and learn more about a day at ParkInn hotel.
