SOS Children's Villages global Chief Executive officer, Nobert Joachim and the Regional (East and South Africa )Director Ms.ShubaMurthi visited Nairobi CV. During the visit they interacted with the children and had programme brief sessions with the staff. Later in the week two accompanied by the, Board chair Ms. Susan Kiama, National Director Mr. Walter Odhiambo and board member David Abwoga paid a courtesy call to her Excellency the first lady Mrs. Margaret Kenyatta and patron of SOS CV Kenya at State house Nairobi. The CEO applauded the move by thePrecedency to open up State house to children as one of the greatest ideas in Africa. He added that this idea has a lasting impact of mentorship and role modelling for the children. For the last four years State House has been made easily accessible to various groups of children who routinely meet with both the President and the First Lady. The CEO also briefed the First Lady over several global initiatives including the Generation Unlimited program which he co- chairs with the UN secretary General and which aims at enhancing the employment of the youth through the development of their skills set. In addition he discussed with the First Lady the various sustainable development goals (SDGs) related to the welfare of children especially those related to keeping them safe.
